Students of the IT Department Embark on Hike and Clean-Up at Champadevi
Champadevi, June 1, 2024
A group of enthusiastic students from the Department of Information Technology, comprising BCA and BIT 5th semester students, undertook a memorable hike to Champadevi. They enjoyed the natural beauty and challenging trails and contributed significantly to the environment by cleaning up the temple area and the hiking trail up to Hattiban.
The hike, which combined physical activity with environmental stewardship, saw students picking up litter along the way. The major types of rubbish collected included plastic bottles and plastic packaging from junk foods and chocolates. This initiative helped to restore the pristine condition of the trail and the sacred temple area, making it more enjoyable for future visitors.
Despite the hard work involved in the clean-up, the students found the experience deeply rewarding. Many expressed a sense of fulfillment from making a positive impact on the environment while bonding with their peers. The hike was not just about physical exercise, but also about fostering a sense of community and responsibility towards nature.
The event highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness in natural and sacred spaces. It served as a reminder of the impact of human activities on the environment and the need for sustainable practices.
The Department of IT is proud of its students for their dedication and hopes this initiative will inspire others to take similar actions to protect and preserve our beautiful natural sites.
